Sam Pitroda has quit as the chairman of the Indian Overseas Congress amid a huge political row over his controversial racist remarks. The decision has been accepted by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. The announcement about Mr Pitroda came in a terse post on X from the party's communications-in-charge Jairam Ramesh. For the unversed, Sam Pitroda, in a podcast while describing the diversity of India, had said that the “people in the east look like the Chinese, people in the west look like the Arabs, people in the north look like, maybe, white and people in the south look like Africans.” This remark by Sam Pitroda created a controversial storm all over social media.
