Heavy police force has been deployed at the Shimla and the Markets are closed across Himachal Pradesh over the alleged illegal construction of a mosque in the Sanjauli area on September 14.

Due to Himachal cloudburst, more than 50 people are missing, and two bodies have been recovered so far. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has arrived at the scene to help with search and rescue efforts. Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu has called a meeting with officials to coordinate the rescue operations and address the situation. The heavy rainfall has caused significant damage and has made rescue efforts challenging. Authorities are working hard to locate and assist those affected by this severe weather event. Himachal Rains: '16 bodies recovered so far', NDRF personnel gives information

The rescue operations in rain-battered Shimla entered day six on August 19. Joint rescue operations are underway by NDRF, SDRF, Indian Army and local people. So far, 16 bodies, among 20 people have been recovered from the Summer Hill area of Shimla. Over 70 people have lost their lives in the hilly state of Himachal Pradesh due to the deadly monsoon. Moreover, the state has suffered a loss of more than 7,500 crores, as per the govt reports.
