A teenage girl in Haryana, who is a state-level volleyball player, was hospitalised with serious injuries after two motorcycle-borne men threw acid on her while she was going for practice on Saturday evening, police said. 18-year-old Ritu Saini was taken to the Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) in Rohtak with burn injuries on her face and chest. It's a case that seems to have been hushed up by the authorities. More than a month after over 100 girls were rescued from a shelter in Rohtak where they were subjected to torture and sexual abuse, five people have been arrested including the owner of the home. The girls were rescued in a raid by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights and Haryana Police.
