Tired of being pitted against each other, two sisters decided to undergo multiple surgeries, only to realise, they have different beauty ideals

Tacky Twinning

Japan-based twin sisters Chie and Chika Yoshikawa underwent multiple surgeries over a span of 10 years

Twin sisters Chie and Chika Yoshikawa, in their mid 30s are famous in their home country of Japan for turning to plastic surgery repeatedly to attain their desired looks. The duo looked very different from each other about 10 years ago. They have spent around 40 million yen (R22,616,347) in cosmetic procedures, ranging from filler injections and face lifts to multiple nose jobs and double eyelid surgery.

Despite putting up with pain and long-term recovery, the shape of their eyes, their nose, and even their faces are still noticeably different. Nonetheless, the sisters have no regrets for their obsession with changing appearances and have embraced their roles as plastic surgery ambassadors.

It all started because the sisters would be pitted against each other, something that they both hated and thus decided to undergo a series of same procedures to look like each other. However, when they realised that they had different beauty ideals, they went for different surgeries. Now after many surgeries, they claim that they understand that beauty standards are ever-changing and they don’t always have to follow them to feel good about themselves.
