New Delhi: A demand for cancellation of Indo-Pak talks between the National Security Advisors in the wake of the terror attack in Udhampur that claimed the lives of two BSF personnel, was made in the Lok Sabha on Thursday.

"No talk should happen. The proposed NSA-level talks should be cancelled," Shiv Sena member Chandrakant Khaire said during Zero Hour. The talks are to be held on August 23-24.

Khaire also asked the Home Minister not to hold any bilateral discussions with the neighbouring country "till the time they stop sending terrorists to India and help us in the probe" into the attacks like the recent one in Gurdaspur also. His statement came a day after the attack on a BSF convoy near Udhampur in which one terrorist was caught alive and another killed.

Khaire also referred to reports that Tariq Khosa, the former Director General of Pakistan's Federal Investigation Agency which probed the 26/11 Mumbai attack in his country, too has admitted that its perpetrators hailed from Pakistan.

Raising another issue, BJP members Nepal Singh, Satyapal Singh, Jagdambika Pal and Bhola Singh raised problems facing sugarcane farmers and their heightening dues.

Since the prices of sugar are low, the government should consider controlling the price level so that it becomes profitable, Satyapal Singh said, adding that the sugar price was hovering around Rs 22-23 per kg.

Another BJP MP Mahendra Nath Pandey raised the problem of mushrooming private nursing homes across the country and requested the government to set up of some regulatory authority to regulate such hospitals. There should be uniformity of charges for various treatment, he said, adding the government should look at this issue and frame some policy in this regard.
