Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2024 today. She announced a financial package of ₹15,000 crore for Andhra Pradesh to aid in the construction of its capital city, Amaravati, and to support other developmental projects in the state. During her budget speech, FM Sitharaman highlighted the government`s commitment to fulfilling obligations under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act. Recognizing the state`s requirement for a capital city, she emphasized that special financial assistance will be provided through international financial institutions. The allocated amount for the current financial year is ₹15,000 crore, with provisions for additional funding in the coming years to meet ongoing needs and development goals in Andhra Pradesh.
