Former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has taken full responsibility for his administration`s "war on drugs" in a video message posted on his Facebook account. In the video, he said he stands by law enforcement and the military, adding that he had promised to protect them and take responsibility for their actions. Duterte made these remarks as he prepares for a legal battle at the International Criminal Court (ICC). He was arrested in Manila on Wednesday for murder charges linked to his anti-drug campaign, which led to thousands of deaths. He was then flown to The Hague and handed over to the ICC. The video, which has been viewed 10 million times, shows Duterte speaking alone in a plain white shirt. It seems to have been recorded inside the plane, as the engine’s hum can be heard in the background. The ICC confirmed that Duterte is now in their custody and will soon appear before a judge in The Hague. He has been taken to a detention facility on the Dutch coast while awaiting trial.
