The Uttar Pradesh government reported that 8.429 million devotees took a holy dip at Mahakumbh 2025 on Sunday alone. Over 420 million devotees have visited the event so far, making it one of the largest religious gatherings in history. Mahakumbh 2025 commenced on Paush Purnima, 13 January, and will continue until Mahashivratri, 26 February. It is the world’s largest spiritual and cultural congregation, drawing devotees from across India and the world.
The event is expected to break attendance records as millions continue to arrive for the sacred bathing rituals. The administration has undertaken extensive preparations to accommodate the vast influx of pilgrims and ensure a smooth and secure experience.
