A branch of a tree collapsed on two houses in Daighar, Diva, on Saturday afternoon. One of the houses suffered some damage but no injuries were reported in the incident. The Disaster Management Cell received a call on Saturday around 2.30 pm informing them about the tree collapse. As per latest information, firefighters were present at the spot along with an emergency vehicle to clear the branch that fell on the houses.

A wanted terrorist, a member of the Pune module of the ISIS, has been arrested by the Delhi Police, officials said on Friday. Acting on a tip-off, a team of the Delhi Police`s Special Cell arrested Rizwan Abdul Haji Ali, a resident of Daryaganj here, from a location near Ganga Baksh Marg at the Delhi-Faridabad border at around 11 pm on Thursday, the officials said. A .30-bore pistol, three live cartridges and two mobile phones were seized from his possession, they added.

Three Naxalites, including two carrying a cumulative reward of Rs 16 lakh on their heads, surrendered on Friday in Chhattisgarh`s Bijapur district, a police official said. He identified the three as Ramesh Farsa, Laxman Potam alias Mura and woman cadre Manki Madvi alias Sarita. "Farsa, with a bounty of Rs 8 lakh on his head, was active as member of Platoon Number 1 of People`s Liberation Guerrilla Army of the outlawed CPI (Maoist). Sarita was part of Central Regional Command (CRC) Company`s Platoon Number 1 under the Maoists` South Bastar division. She too carried a reward of Rs 8 lakh on her head," he said.

At least 128 roads were closed in Himachal Pradesh following landslides and flash floods caused by the ongoing rain spell, the Met office said on Friday. The regional Met office has also issued an `orange` warning for heavy to very rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning, at isolated places on Saturday and a `yellow` warning for heavy rain till August 15. It warned of a low to moderate flash flood risk in isolated parts of Mandi, Bilaspur, Solan, Sirmaur, Shimla and Kullu districts till Saturday.
