A massive search operation was underway on Saturday in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district where two terrorists are believed to be trapped. The sources said the security forces closed vehicular traffic from Thanamandi to Rajouri in view of an ongoing operation in Khablan and other nearby villages of the district.

The two terrorists belong to the group which was earlier engaged in a gunfight with the security forces during the anti-terror operation in Poonch district. Eleven soldiers, including two JCOs, have been killed in the anti-terror operation that has continued for the last 27 days in Poonch and Rajouri districts. Additional security forces have been rushed.

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir administration decided to grant security allowances to the Special Operation Group (SOG), Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) and state police personnel. In an order issued on November 1, the combatant operational personnel of SOG, BDS and J&K police will get incentive of 25 per cent of their basic pay while the non-combatant personnel will get 12.5 per cent. The order also said that the hardship allowances to SOG and BDS shall also be the same as given to other police personnel.
