An official on Thursday said that two separate videos of Pune youngsters, including women, performing life-threatening stunts have gone viral on social media, prompting the police to identify and initiate action against the individuals involved, reported news agency PTI.

In one video, a woman is seen hanging precariously by holding the hand of a man from the roof of a deserted building in the Narhe area off Mumbai-Bengaluru highway. In the second viral clip, a young woman is seen riding a motorbike hands-free while sitting on one side of the two-wheeler, reported PTI.

The official told PTI on Thursday that the police took cognisance of the video shot in Narhe and traced the Pune youngsters involved in the perilous act.

"A case has been registered against them under section 336 (endangering life or personal safety of others) of the IPC," he told PTI.

The second video, where the helmet-less woman is seen riding the motorcycle hands-free with both legs on one side, was shot in the Sayyadnagar area of Hadapsar, reported PTI.

The official said police have traced the woman and served a notice, asking her to appear before them.

In another case, the police said that the body of a 25-year-old woman was allegedly found in a water tanker in Hadapsar area in Puneon Thursday morning, reported PTI.

An official told PTI that Kaushalya Chavan, the deceased, had left her house in Handewadi locality hours earlier.

The body was discovered by Purushottam Sasane who provides water to housing societies in Hadapsar, he said.

"On Thursday morning he filled the tanker, and on returning home he parked it outside his house. Around 10 am, Sasane drove the tanker to a housing society. As the outflow of water was low, he clambered on top and opened the lid, only to find a body inside," the police official told PTI.

Autopsy revealed the cause of death as 'drowning', the official said, adding that probe was on and no arrest had been made yet.
