Meanwhile, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis congratulated PM Modi and said that it was a moment of happiness and pride.

"The "Shiv Samman Award," given by the royal family in the name of India's illustrious and ideal Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, has been announced to be given to Prime Minister Narendra Modi this time," Devendra Fadnavis posted on X on Wednesday.

He further said, "It is a moment of happiness and pride for all Shiva devotees. Hearty congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi."

The award is instituted by the Satara royal family and Shiv-bhakts and would be conferred at a grand ceremony at the Sainik School Ground.

Earlier, Maharashtra deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis was conferred an honorary doctorate by Japan's Koyasan University, reported news agency PTI.

The university conferred the doctorate on Devendra Fadnavis to recognise his efforts in creating basic civic infrastructure, implementing schemes such as the Jalyukta Shivar Yojana, and his contribution to the industrial development of the state, reported PTI.

In his acceptance speech at the event held in south Mumbai in the evening,  Devendra Fadnavis said that he dedicated the honour to the people of Maharashtra.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday unveiled a series of videos created by Nagpur City Police under the Police Didi initiative, reported PTI.

The initiative seeks to reach out to and communicate with school-going girls, parents and teachers about identifying, preventing and responding to threats of sexual offenses, harassment and abuse, reported PTI.

"The educational videos are not only informative but also tailored to resonate with their target audience. Nagpur Police believes in collaboration while addressing societal challenges. We are determined to combat human trafficking and will keep working towards achieving our goal," said Joint Commissioner of Police Aswati Dorje, reported PTI.

The videos will be distributed across platforms including social media, schools, and community centres.

"By educating the people, we aim to create a safe environment for women, children and everyone. Staying vigilant and well-informed is crucial for citizens to prevent crime," police commissioner Amitesh Kumar said, reported PTI.
