The leaders of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Coalition (INDIA) bloc convened virtually on Saturday to discuss issues about the coalition, including participation in the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra and the revision of the agenda for seat-sharing. Video conferencing allowed leaders to participate, including Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Kanimozhi Karunanidhi of the DMK, and Sharad Pawar of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Deliberations over the designation of an alliance convener are expected.

It was a welcome development that leaders of the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party met on Friday to discuss seat sharing. The two-hour meeting at Mukul Wasnik's house ended with the leaders expressing excitement about the discussions.

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh, on Friday, stated that the meeting will also discuss the participation of alliance parties in the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra which will begin on January 14 in Manipur.

"INDIA party leaders will be meeting over Zoom tomorrow, January 13th, 2024. They will review various issues like seat-sharing talks that have begun, participation in the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra that will begin from Thoubal near Imphal, the day after tomorrow, and other important matters. Badlega Bharat Jeetega INDIA," Jairam Ramesh wrote in his social media post.

In the forthcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is expected to face opposition from the Congress-led INDIA alliance. As India gets closer to the election between the long-standing NDA and the newly formed INDIA coalition, a lot is changing in the political environment.

The political landscape is changing significantly as the 2024 Lok Sabha elections approach, with the INDIA coalition preparing to challenge the ruling NDA. The NDA won 353 seats in the 2019 elections, UPA claimed 91, while Others gained 98. The Modi-led NDA alliance and the newly formed INDIA group are expected to compete in the 2024 elections.
