Telangana Chief Minister and BRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday warned voters that the Congress, if voted to power in Telangana in the November 30 Assembly elections will abolish welfare schemes such as Rythu Bandhu and free power to farmers.

Speaking at a rally here, Rao, also known as KCR, said people like eminent scientist Dr M S Swaminathan and organisations such as the UN also appreciated Rythu Bandhu-- an investment support scheme for farmers, when introduced.

“Congress leader Uttam Kumar Reddy says Rythu Bandhu is a waste of public money. Another leader, the present PCC president, says three hours of power is enough for farmers. If the Congress wins [in the polls] they say Ram Ram to Rythu Bandhu and Jai Bhim to Dalit Bandhu. People should decide what kind of situation they would be in,” KCR alleged. Agencies

‘OPS and laptops for college students, schools in Rajasthan’

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday announced five guarantees for the people of the state, including a law on Old Pension Scheme, buying cow dung and providing a laptop or a tablet to government college students, if his government is reelected in the November 25 elections.

Addressing a press conference here, the Congress leader also attacked the Centre alleging a misuse of the Enforcement Directorate. “A chief minister [Bhupesh Baghel] had to say that more than dogs, it’s the ED that is on the prowl in the country. (Desh me kutton se jyada ED ghum rahi hai). What could be a bigger misfortune than this?” he said.

Chhattisgarh: Why is Baghel silent?

Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Ravi Shankar Prasad on Friday questioned Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel on his silence when allies of the Congress like the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam made objectionable remarks about Sanatan Dharma.
