A band of college boys presents 'Count Down', with new Kannada songs sung in hip-hop style






Down South Rhythms (DSR), a boy band in their debut album titled, 'Count Down' presents the indigenous Kannada music but with a difference.

Dressed in college going casuals, the band comprising seven members, all below 21 years has blended the tunes with a touch of hip hop and rap gifting the listeners a wide range of new and peppy numbers.

"When the English is ruling the land of rap and hip-hop we tried to bring Kannada just because to reach and protecting our own identity," says Sandeep, one of the band members.

"This album is not just an album; this is dictating the facts of society and life," adds Sandeep.

DSR in their debut album recorded seven songs depicting several current and social issues.

"The audio has a mix of seven songs, with each one of them having a different concept including Mumbai blast, Flirt girls, Party bees, Drugs, illusion and the likes," says Abhimanyu.

The album has more to boast about. Vijeth, the music director for the album is all of 18 years of age.

This is not all. 'Count Down', has more such unique features.

"This album also has more than one special element that is the song 'Baitidru', which is the fastest ever recorded rap music and 'struggle for emotions', which was recorded in a single take within the 48-hour time frame," says Suraj, son of Kannada director Kishor Sarja.

The other members of the band are Chandan, Abhimanyu, Bharat, Dhruva, Sandeep.
