Following the MiD DAY report, the author expresses concern on micro blogging site over the woman being harassed for giving birth to a girl child

A day after MiD DAY reported that a woman had been thrown out of her home by her in-laws after she gave birth to a baby girl, noted Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen has shown her concern over the incident.
Reacting to the report on the micro blogging site Twitter, she wrote, "A woman was kicked out of house by in-laws for giving birth to a girl, 'a wrong gender".

Taslima first tweeted on January 20 at 11.30 pm about the story which was first reported by MiD DAY and then followed up by other publications and TV channels.

Her tweet led to a debate on the site about the poor conditions of females in the South Asian countries, especially India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Later, she tweeted 'Daughters, take care of them. Sons disappear'.
In reply to her tweet, another Twitter user Musdtaheed Khan wrote , "It's really unfortunate that even after a decade into new millennium, some individuals still do such things."

Another user Kausik Datta, who identifies himself as bio researcher, tweeted, "Sad that these things still occur, but not really surprised; It's Delhi."
