Student organisations from the city have pledged their full support to the social activist Anna Hazare who has gone for fast unto death since yesterday with his demands over the ratification of Lokpal Bill and giving it prosecuting powers.

Hazare was dismayed after Prime Minister refused to include activists in the joint committee to draft the Bill. The student wings of the city such as Bharatiya Krantikari Sanghatana (BKS), Republican Vidyarthi Sena and All India Student Association (AISA) are staging demonstrations across all the tehsils and gram shakhas of the state in support of Hazare.

Siddharth Sharma, founder and president of BKS said, "We demonstrated near PMC building, Balgandharv Rangmandir chowk and Collector Office. We want the government to act before April 11, otherwise we will start the jail bharo andolan."

Radheshyam Jagtap, a member of Anna Hazare's organisation called Bhrashtachar Virodhi Jan-Andolan Nyas, fasted on yesterday, while the other members will follow the same every day.u00a0Jagtap also said that they will visit all the villages and small towns to spread the meaning of what Lokpal Bill is and how it can be used to root out the cancer of corruption.
