The main aim is to address issues of those living in Navi Mumbai. This month’s Janta Darbar was conducted on July 4 in Vishnudas Bhave Auditorium, Vashi.

It had come to the notice of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) that huge trucks and tempos are parked under bridges affecting citizens’ safety.

The trucks are fuelled by diesel and a fire could turn into a blaze leading to loss of lives. Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has come up with a plan to construct separate parking lots for trucks and tempos in place like Vashi, Nerul, Belapur, Ghansoli, Turbhe, Airoli, Koper Khairne on unused plots of CIDCO, MIDC, MMRDA.

They will be multi-level parking lots and the NMMC will make sure that no truck is randomly parked anywhere without permission. Once all trucks and tempos are removed the area under the bridge will be well covered by steel rods to make sure that no beggars form homes here.

The NMMC will take up the initiative to beautify this area. u00a0Naik said, “We need to make sure that because of all these trucks parked under bridges no casualty should take place. The administration will make sure that no tempo is parked on roads.”u00a0
