A minor fire was reported from the top floor of Lalit Hotel in Connaught Place area of New Delhi district on Sunday evening.

A fire brigade official said the incident took place at around 5.50 pm. They were informed soon after and around 12 fire engines were sent to the spot to extinguish the fire.
According to the official the flames were reported from the top floor of the hotel. "It was a room storing waste materials on the top floor of the hotel where the fire broke out.
The 12 fire tenders that were pressed into service took half-an-hour to douse the fire. No one was reported hurt in the incident. The reasons behind the incident are yet to be ascertained," added the fire brigade official.
