Nineteen-year-old Voice of India winner Ishmeet Singh drowned in a hotel swimming pool in Male. Ishmeet didn'tu00a0 know how to swim and had ventured into the deep end.

Status now: Ishmeet Singh Foundation was founded by his parents, who have alleged that his accomplices watched him drown and the event company mismanaged the whole affair. Two tribute albums were released.
