The duo got into a fight after the passenger was given the wrong pass; both parties have filed complaints against each other
The Kurla Government Railway Police (GRP) has registered two First Information Reports (FIR) against a doctor and a booking clerk after the duo had a fight on Saturday at Ghatkopar railway station.

Dr Abu Alam, an MBBS who is undergoing training at Parel’s KEM hospital, was given a wrong railway pass by Joshua D’Souza, the booking clerk. Alam asked for a first class pass between Ghatkopar and Parel, but D’Souza gave him a pass till Dadar. Alam noticed it after he moved away from the queue. Rahul Yadav, an eyewitness, said, “When Alam realised that he had got the wrong pass, he approached D’Souza and went inside his office. Soon, a loud argument ensued between the duo. D’Souza’s colleagues also came in and there was a fight between D’Souza and Alam.” According to Yadav, Alam left the scene but later returned with four friends. They started breaking the glass of the ticket window.
Alam’s father, who has a shoe shop opposite Ghatkopar station, alleged that his son had sustained injuries on his hand and bruises on the rest of his body. He said, “When Alam went to speak to the clerk in his cabin, the latter hit him. Alam rushed to my shop and asked his friends to accompany him to the clerk. By the time I could follow him and help him calm down, the fight had begun,” said his father.
When contacted, S S Dhumal, senior police inspector, GRP, (Kurla), said, “We will register cross FIRs from both the parties and investigate the matter.”
Alam has filed a complaint against D’Souza under Section 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) under the Indian Railway Act. Meanwhile, D’Souza has filed complaints under Section 332 section (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty), 427 (damaging property) and 504 against Alam. u00a0
