On Wednesday, around 2.30 pm, the office staff received a call from a person who started a barrage of questions in a casual manner (Is the CM in his office? What time he comes and what times he go?), without waiting for au00a0 reply. Irritated by his nonstop queries, the staff asked him who he was. The caller replied casually, "You'll will get to know about me tomorrow when the bomb explodes." He said that the bomb had been planted on a Wednesday, and would explode on Thursday.

Taking no chances
The staff brought this to the notice of Vidhana Soudha security, who swung into action and alerted the police. Shortly, the police arrived with the anti-sabotage and bomb disposal squads, and conducted a thorough check of the premises. After 5-hour search, they declared the call a hoax.

"The way the call was made, we had an inkling that it was a hoax call, but we didn't want to take any chances, regardless," said a senior police officer who is in-charge of the Vidhana Soudha security.

Based on a complaint filed by Manjunath Shetty, a security officer, the police have taken up a case and are investigating. Inspector D Ashoka said that they are tracking the mobile number from which the call was made. "We came to know that he is moving around Kolar district and efforts are on to nab him," he added.

He further said that we knew that the caller is making a hoax call since he called from his land line.

It is a case of mischief monger who wanted to trouble the police and he is going to pay for the prank, Ashoka said.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Secretary Bhrusngeshu00a0 said that he is not aware of the incident. I do not know anything about this and you have to call up the concerned police station for details, he said.
