Say the flying bulls, the world's best aerobatics team, after their debut at the Aero India 2011. it took Almost 2 hours to reach the venue, a drive which normally takes 40 minutes and is quite pleasant

Though unperturbed by the altitude and G-forces while streaking across the sky and performing barrel-rolls, these fearless high-fliers found it difficult to navigate Bangalore roads. The traffic situation and road rage in the city is quite challenging and it must take a really skilled driver to get around," said Jirri Saller, a pilot with the Flying Bulls Aerobatics Team at the Aero India 2011 yesterday.

While he attributed the traffic jams to the narrow lanes and increasing vehicular population, he was shocked at the fact that lane discipline is not being followed on the roads such as the New Airport Road, which is also a National Highway.

"In all countries where I have driven cars, the roads have six lanes, but the lane concept is missing here," said Saller. "In cities such as Riyadh and Cairo, I can drive a car at 100 kmph, but here, I can't even exceed 40 kmph."

up with a new trailblazing act -- emblazoning the sky with the letters IAF,

Saller is visiting India for the first time with his team, and was unaware about theu00a0 arrangements made by the traffic police to allocate a dedicated lane for vehicles going to the air show, while there were separate lanes for buses plying to the international airport. But other drivers apparently were not following lane discipline, even as the traffic police struggled on the busy stretch to keep traffic moving.

The team staying at Cunningham Road, took over an hour to reach the venue. They said that the experience was a nightmare. "But we enjoyed the cheering crowd, and that made it worthwhile," said Radka Machova, who at 62, is the oldest woman pilot active in the world and also leader of the team.

While the Surya Kiran team enthralled visitors with numerous formations and rolls while emitting trails of colourful smoke behind their planes, the Czech Flying Bulls broke the monopoly with their perfectly choreographed maneuver, in which the leading aircraft flew upside down directly above the second aircraft flying right side up, mirroring the leading aircraft's flight pattern. At this point, the third aircraft came in close and then passed the first two in close barrel rolls, which left the spectators gasping. This is the team specialty, which not many teams can perform flawlessly.u00a0

"Absolute discipline, concentration, trust and team spirit are the basic ingredients of Flying Bulls Aerobatics Team's success. Often called "acrobats of the air", the four pilots merge to form a perfect unit during their aerobatic displays," says the company profile about the team.
