Apart from Mumbai, thousands of people on Monday reached Deekshabhoomi in Nagpur to pay tributes to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on his 134th birth anniversary and take part in various programmes to mark the occasion
Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Constitution and social reformer, embraced Buddhism at Deekshabhoomi in 1956, making it a revered site for lakhs of his followers
Special arrangements were made in parts of Mumbai by the BMC and the city police for Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti
In a traffic notification, Mumbai Police said, 134th Jayanti of Bharat Ratna Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar will be observed on 14th April, 2025, his followers in large number will visit Chaityabhoomi in Dadar area of Mumbai between April 13 and April 14
The police said, as huge crowds will visit Chaityabhoomi in Dadar, vehicular traffic near the roads leading towards Chaityabhoomi were likely to be affected
The traffic advisory said that in order to prevent danger, obstructions and inconveniences to the public, traffic regulation and controlling shall come into effect from 12.00 hrs. dated 13/04/2025 till 24.00 hrs. dated 14/04/2025 on several roads leading towards Chaityabhoomi, Shivaji Park, Dadar
