According to their announcement, the suspension will be undertaken due to security concerns. PM Modi today will be holding a roadshow in the Ghatkopar region.

Officials advised the commuters to plan their journeys accordingly and also conveyed regrets due to the inconvenience the closure will cause amid PM Modi's Mumbai roadshow.

"Due to security reasons, metro services will be suspended between Jagruti Nagar and Ghatkopar Metro Stations, from 06:00 pm till further notice. Commuters are requested to plan their journey accordingly. Inconvenience is regretted," officials said.

Police ban drones, paragliders, and balloons for PM Modi's Mumbai visits

Meanwhile, the Mumbai Police announced a ban on the use of drones, paragliders, balloons, kites, and remote-controlled microlight aircraft in the city during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Mumbai roadshow. PM Modi is scheduled to conduct a campaign roadshow in Ghatkopar on Wednesday and address a public meeting in the city on Friday.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations) issued prohibitory orders under section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) from 00:01 hrs on May 15 (Wednesday) to 24:00 hrs on May 17 (Friday). The ban aims to prevent potential security threats and maintain public safety during PM Modi's visits.

The orders state concerns about possible terrorist or anti-social activities using flying objects, which could endanger public safety and disturb public tranquillity. Violators of these orders will face punishment under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for disobeying lawful orders by a public servant.

Traffic police have also made elaborate arrangements for PM Modi's Mumbai roadshow on Wednesday. Portions of LBS road and Mahul-Ghatkopar road will remain closed from 2 pm to 10 pm, with alternative routes provided for vehicular traffic to ensure smooth movement during the event.
