Omicron: Section 144 extended in Mumbai till December 31

With over two dozen cases of Omicron variant in Mumbai, the Maharashtra government has extended Section 144 in the city till December 31, as per an order of Police Commissioner, Greater Mumbai.


“Section 144 will be imposed from December 16 and will be in force till December 31,” states the order.

Maharashtra reported eight new Omicron cases on Tuesday, taking the total to 28. 42 per cent of these cases have no travel history.
