On Monday, the collective water stock in the seven reservoirs that supply drinking water to Mumbai is reported to be at 96.38 pc, as per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.

As per the data shared by the civic body (BMC), the water level in Tansa is at 94.75 per cent.
The data further stated that at Modak-Sagar, 85.56 per cent of water stock is available.

In Middle Vaitarna 96,45 per cent, Upper Vaitarna 100 pc, Bhatsa 97.44 per cent, Vihar 97.77 per cent and Tulsi 95.68 per cent of useful water level.
The seven lakes had 13,94,913 million litre of water on October 16, against the full capacity, which is around 14,47,363 million litre.
The water level in the city is dripping in comparison to the previous year. Last year on October 16, the water level in the seven reservoirs that supply drinking water to Mumbai was reported at 14,04, 567 million litre i.e 97.04 per cent.
Meanwhile, on Monday morning, around hundreds of dead fish were found floating in the Banganga water tank at the Walkeshwar temple in Mumbai.
Every year, following the Pitru Paksha rituals, a large number of fish are found dead in the Banganga tank. During the 'pitru paksha' observance, devotees express their respect for their forefathers by offering food. After the devotees offer prayer, the offered food are immersed in the water tank.
