On Tuesday, Mumbai saw a marginal rise in new cases but the test positivity rate (TPR) dipped along with Covid-19 fatalities. As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) report, 425 new cases were reported on Tuesday. The city recorded a TPR of 1.34% and two deaths. Both the deceased had comorbidities and were in the age group over 60 years.


The doubling rate marginally dipped to 1,087 days on Tuesday. The city’s recovery rate remained constant at 97 per cent as 400 people recovered and were discharged on Tuesday. After the new cases in the state fell below 2,000 on Monday, they rose significantly on Tuesday. There was also saw a marginal rise in Covid-19 fatalities. As per the state health department report, 2,069 cases were reported along with 43 deaths across the state.

The state’s case fatality rate remained constant at 2.12 per cent as 3,616 recovered and got discharged on Tuesday. Currently the state has 30,525 active cases.  The Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) saw a marginal rise  in new cases. As per the state report, 758 cases were reported in the MMR including cases from Mumbai. 

Apart from Mumbai, Kalyan-Dombivli reported the maximum number of daily cases in the MMR with 58 new cases. It was followed by Panvel with 53 cases. While Navi Mumbai saw 48 cases, Raigad had 34 cases each, Mira-Bhayandar witnessed 14 cases.  MMR, excluding Mumbai, registered two deaths. Raigad and Panvel reported one death each.
