Ahead of Navratri, the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) on Monday said that it will operate 26 extra buses daily during the Navratri festival and Mahalaxmi Fair. 


The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) in a statement said that this year Mahalaxmi fair is scheduled to be held from September 26 to October 4. "During, Navratri large number of devotees visit the Mahalaxmi temple to seek the blessings. To facilitate transportation of the commuters going to Mahalaxmi temple, BEST will be operating 26 extra buses daily on routes 28, 37, 83, 57, A-77, 151, A-124, A-357, connecting, Mahalaxmi Temple," it said.

"In addition to cater passengers coming by suburban railway at Byculla and Mahalaxmi temple - a special feeder service will be available at high frequency between the two destinations during the Navratri fair for nine days. Special trips will also be operated between Jijamata Udyan (Byculla-E) to Mahalaxmi plying via Byculla, Saat Rasta and Mahalaxmi Station," BEST said in the statement.

The nine-day Navratri festival is scheduled to start on September 26, 2022, with the Ghadasthapana, and conclude on October 5, 2022, with the Durga Visarjan or Dussehra/Vijayadashami celebration.
