It was a terrible Monday for thousands of commuters on the Western Railway after train services got disrupted in the morning.

The incident happened at around 6.45 am when the overhead cables snapped near Borivli station leading to chaos. The train services on the slow track towards Churchgate were stopped for a while.

Sources said that slow train services were majorly affected as the line got blocked. The services on the fast track were running late and over crowded to the brim.

Western Railway officials said that the cable fault was rectified at around 9.15 am but by that time the morning peak hours were affected as the trains ran at least 10-15 minutes behind schedule.
