The World Cup fever proved detrimental for a 27-year-old woman residing in Dindoshi.

The sketch of the robber has been released by the Kurar Police Station, while the search is on

Aparna Mangera, a yoga instructor, was so engrossed in the Sri Lanka-Kenya match that a robber managed to break into her house at Sangam building in Kurar without her hearing anything.

The incident took place around 4.30 pm on Tuesday when Aparna was so absorbed in the game that she did not hear the front door being forcibly opened.

Once inside, the robber locked the entrance, brandished a handgun and threatened to kill her if she raised an alarm.

According to the police, the robber gagged the woman and fled with a gold chain, two diamond rings and cash, worth Rs 1 lakh.

S Marathe, police inspector of Kurar police station said, "We have registered a complaint and have prepared a sketch of the accused based on the description given by the victim."

"The girl's father, who runs a yoga centre, and mother had gone outside when the incident took place," he informed.
