"The society is going bigger and not all the people are participating as during the voting day people do not come out to vote because of which governance is deteriorating, with the help of this website we are targeting middle class and the kids of upper class to change this trend," said BG Deshmukh, former cabinet secretary and president of Praja, an NGO.

The website will be updated every four months and will display the development work taking place in each ward in key areas such as education, health, civic issues and crime. It will also display profile of each MLA and MP.

"Everyone will be able to know the attendance of councillors in forums such as Standing Committee, House meets etc. The questions asked by them and also how they have spend the money allocated to them," said Nitai Mehta, founder trustee of Praja foundation. The foundation has collected the detailed information through the Right to Information Act.
According to the plan, the corporators can come online and can have a live chat with the people and can also have discussion on the problems in the area.

Citizens can use the website in two ways: register their needs and complaints. "Each ward will have different needs and complaints. People can register keeping their locality in mind. They can also find out what are the issues faced by other wards," said Mehta.
Not only this, even the elected representative can put their messages, replies or their opinions. "The idea is to facilitate a two-way communication process. We want to give them every chance to make their stand or work known," said Mehta.
Mayor Dr Shuba Raul who was present at the function commented, "The elected representatives and citizens are in the ratio of 1:50,000 with the help of this website the elected representatives can be made accountable on several works are not done. Usually banners are put for work that is completed, but the trend can now change."
