A special CBI court today asked Bombay Dyeing chairman Nusli Wadia to depose before it on July 6 in connection with an old case of attempt on his life.

"Summons have been issued to Wadia to appear before the special court on July 6," Special Public Prosecutor Kiran Makasare said. Last month, the court had rejected an application filed by accused Kirit Ambani seeking in-camera deposition of Wadia.

The special court had in May last year allowed Wadia to depose in connection with the over two decade old attempt to murder case. Wadia, in his application had contended that in spite of being the victim of the crime, his statement was not recorded and he was never contacted by prosecution.
