On Friday afternoon, residents of Wadala Truck Terminus on the road near Wadala RTO were in for a tragic sight, when a truck rammed into a buffalo.
"The truck driver continued driving after ramming into the buffalo and the animal was caught under the dumper truck's wheels. When locals pelted stones on the truck, he stopped, rushed out and ran away," said Sunish Subramanian (Secretary), Plant & Animals Welfare Society, who has lodged a complaint with the Wadala Truck Terminus police station.
The policemen are now reportedly on the look out for the driver. "Earlier in an illegal horse racing event, a horse fell off a flyover in the suburbs and was injured. Based on the photographic evidence, we had then complained and a case was registered against the organiser of the race. Here too, the police should now file a case against this driver," said Subramanian.
The driver was reportedly driving a truck with the number plate MH 04 DD 5349.
