A 13-year-old student has reportedly gone missing, along with one of his teachers from Santacruz, since Saturday. The police have registered a case of kidnapping and initiated their search for the two. Lokesh Rawal, a student from Andrews High School, Santacruz (East), has been missing with his teacher, Anjali Singh (25).

His father, Bhairav Rawal, said, “On Saturday, Lokesh had left the house around 12.30 pm, telling us that he was returning some costumes that he had taken from the school for a function. He has been missing since then. I filed a missing complaint at Vakola police station on the same day, but there has been no news about him till now.”

His parents waited till 4 pm after which his mother called on his mobile number, which was switched off. She then called Lokesh’s classmate, Malai Patel. “When I called him (Malai), he was watching a film in the theatre. I asked him to give the phone to my son, but he told me that Lokesh was not with him and that he went with his teacher, Anjali to Goregaon,” informed the mother. The duo has been missing since Saturday and their phones are switched off.

The next day (Sunday), the missing boy’s father went to the school, during a staff meeting, to enquire about his son. There he met Anjali’s father, who was also there asking for her. According to Lokesh’s friends, he has gone out with his teacher in the past as well.

For the Rawal family, it is a sad case of déjà vu. In February 2011, their eldest son, Jagdish had reportedly left home late at night, which the family came to know about in the morning, and has been missing since then. The parents are left with a daughter and a son. “I’m worried about them, what if they go missing some day too.” According to a police officer of Vakola police station, they have registered the case under Section 363 (kidnapping) and the investigation is ongoing.
