The Ghatkopar unit of the Anti Narcotics Cell arrested a woman with cash and drugs totalling Rs 73 lakh. Officers said Nazma Sheikh, who lives in Mahim’s Jansewak society, supplied drugs to peddlers in posh areas between Worli and Andheri.

During interrogation, she revealed about her rented room at LBS Marg, Kurla, from where ANC officers recovered 2.7 kg of charas worth Rs 54 lakh and Rs 9,45,000 in cash. Officers said the seized drugs and cash amounted to Rs 73 lakh.
According to officers, 25 to 30 drug peddlers were in contact with Nazma, who have been dealing drugs for the past six-seven years. Her husband, Salim Sheikh, also smuggled and supplied drugs. He is currently in jail in a murder case, they added. Datta Nalawade, deputy commissioner of police, ANC, said, “Further investigations are underway.”
