Actress Rimi Sen has approached the Khar police after she was cheated out of Rs 4.40 crore by an acquaintance. The Khar police said Sen owns the production house, Mamlo Films, located at Khar. Sen in her written application, has stated that she had met the accused Ronak Jatin at a gym in Andheri three years ago.

The two had become friends over the months. Sen told the police that he had claimed to be a businessman and had opened a new company of LED lights. He had then offered Sen an opportunity to invest in the company for returns of 40 per cent.

After Sen decided to invest money, they had drafted an agreement. When the deadline of the investment ended, Sen asked for her profit, but Jatin started ignoring her calls. She then learned that Jatin had not opened any LED lights business. The actress realised that she had been cheated and filed a written application with the Khar police.

After investigation, the police registered a case under various sections of the IPC against Jatin. “We have registered the complaint and are tracing the accused,” said a police officer from Khar police station. When contacted, Sen's manager said, “We would not like to talk about it at this stage.”
