The Mumbai Crime Branch, which is striving to bring back gangster Prasad Pujari from China, has found that the criminal has already played his next move. While the cops are aware of his presence in China for the past few years, they have now learnt that he has married a Chinese woman and the couple has a child. This has made their job much harder.

Crime Branch sources said their hopes soared after the arrest of Pujari’s mother in 2020. “His mother’s arrest gave us a crucial lead about his whereabouts and that his visa also got expired at that time. But the information about him getting married to a Chinese woman is going to create fresh troubles in bringing him back,” said a Crime Branch officer, hinting at the neighbouring nation’s hostile stand as far as India is concerned.

Cops said Pujari, who faces several cases of extortion and attempt to murder in Mumbai, lives in Luohu district, Shenzhen city. He appeared on their radar in 2019 after some people shot at a Shiv Sena worker, Chandrakant Jadhav. The Crime Branch arrested 13 members of his gang, while Pujari went underground. Though they dismantled his gang, they kept exploring ways to bring him back to Mumbai.
