A sneaker festival that will showcase cool homegrown and global players promises to be a treat for fans

Fans of sneakers have a cool gig to look forward to. This weekend, they can attend a sneaker festival in Mumbai that hopes to give this community a new avenue for their passion, a platform that provides users to buy, trade, or sell high-demand sneakers and other accessories online, has curated an event called SneakingOut with SteppinOut. “It’s encouraging to see the extent to which the sneaker and streetwear culture in India is establishing its own little subcultures and communities, with an incredible number of talented homegrown artists and entrepreneurs launching their local businesses and brands,” said Param Minhas, co-founder, SoleSearch.

Minhas shared that the audience will get to experience sneakers and streetwear brands they’ve never seen before from leading Indian homegrown streetwear labels including Rising Among, Farak, Bomaachi, and plenty more. “Along with that, we’ve curated a collection of the most valuable and hyped sneakers in the world that include Air Jordans, Yeezys, as well as some of the most sought after and elusive collections like the Fragment x Travis Scott x Jordan, Jordan x Dior, and many more.”
Part of the event will be a performance by popular hip-hop artistes, Gully Gang. “We have DJ Proof and Shah Rule on our line-up, who will be headlining the show and you can expect a lot of activities like sneaker-cleaning workshop, giveaways, and a lot of video games as well,” said Umang Ladia, project head, SneakinOut. “Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted but don’t forget to mask up and take your vaccination certificates. We make sure that social distancing is followed and temperature-checks are done. It’s mandatory to wear a face mask to enter the event, and we ask guests to show us proof of vaccination as well,” assured Ladia.
