"The idea was to cater to our patrons in Mumbai. Lonavala gets a lot of visitors from Mumbai and Pune, so we thought the location was perfect. There were no similar options available in Lonavala either," shares Kunal Udane, owner, German Bakery adding that this is their first foray outside Pune, and they hope to open in Mumbai too.

The Lonavala outlet will serve the same menu as the Koregaon Park outpost and includes as bar menu that will be available at the Law Garden outlet (also in Pune). "We decided to open on February 14 as the unfortunate bomb blasts took place on February 13, 2010 in Pune.
Opening this outlet is our way of saying that Pune’s and German Bakery’s spirit hasn’t been affected," shares Udane. It’s a spirit that certainly needs to be celebrated. Stroganoff and Shrewsbury biscuits anyone?
