Furthermore, it is ironic that the jetty has been non-functional for over three years due to water level issues. This marks the second incident this year, occurring within a span of 15 days, which resulted in the death of seven flamingos and injuries to two others, informs Agarwal
"CIDCO and NMMC should keep in mind the flight path of the flamingos while sanctioning / planning structures in these areas," remarks Agarwal
Finally, the board was removed after pressure from the environmentalists and wildlife enthusiasts. Kailash Shinde, the joint MD of CIDCO, assured Shruti Agarwal from the Save Navi Mumbai Environment group that the board would be promptly removed
