Kumar Raj received the “Mid-Day showbiz International Icon Award as best director" for the feature film Tara at the big function organised by Mid-Day in Dubai this month for the year 2021.

Kumar Raj is a Captain, a Master Mariner in shipping by profession, he has done his Management from Cambridge UK and is into Film Production & Direction through his extreme passion and love for Cinema. He has completed a Diploma in Direction from Digital Academy and Diploma in production from ZIMA (Zee Institute of Media Arts) before commencing his career in the film Industry.
The feature film “Yahaan Ameena Bikti Hai” is produced & directed by Kumar Raj selected from Cameroons for Academy Awards for the best film foreign language category. His previous feature film “Tara - The journey of love and passion” was also selected for Oscars from West Africa in the best film foreign language category.
He has made five feature films in various languages. His last feature film “ Tara the journey of love & passion” was officially selected in 336 international film festivals and has received 236 international awards plus went to Oscars in best film foreign language category. The film Tara was in a co-production & official entry to Oscars from West Africa.
Kumar Raj as producer & director is now in the World Book Of Records for his Feature film Tara as he has received 236 international awards and made a world record.
Kumar Raj also produced & directed the Hindi feature film “Manthan Ek Kashmakash”
The lead actress of feature film Tara & Yahaan Ameena Bikte Hai is Rekha Rana an International award winning actress, entrepreneur and philanthropist. She has received 46 international award as best actress for her performance in Tara. Her upcoming movie is a Canadian documentary Retelling Frankenstein and Hindi feature film ‘Yahaan Ameena Bikti hai’.
Rekha Rana is also the World Ambassador for Princess of Romania Princess Francoise Sturdza for her foundation ‘Heart for India’ and also the peace Ambassador for ‘Wockhardt Foundation’. When in Dubai we asked Rekha Rana how she feels for receiving the award. She said she was very happy and excited to receive Best Actress Iconic award for Tara to receive this honour. Rekha Rana next upcoming releasing is ‘Retelling Frankenstein’ which is a Canadian documentary and she is playing Safie D Lacey in the documentary. And she will be shooting for the poster shoot and the last scene of Yahaan Ameena Bikti hai’ this month. Yahan Ameena Bikti hai is directed and produced by Kumar Raj.
