From making a mark in the acting world to now interviewing the world’s top experts in the health and wellness sphere, Melanie Avalon’s accomplishments have been nothing short of spectacular. Her two top iTunes podcasts - “The Intermittent Fasting Podcast” and “The Melanie Avalon Biohacking Podcast” - have received millions of downloads, and are a continuation of her ever-growing passion for inspiring people, which she first started through acting.

Growing up in Memphis, TN, Melanie was involved in community theatre from a very young age. At 17, she was accepted into the early entrance program at the University of Southern California, where she double majored in film and theatre. While at USC, Melanie achieved the highest GPA in the School of Theatre and won a Hermes award for one of her short films. She also interned for notable figures in the film industry, including Jerry Bruckheimer, Julia Pistor (former VP of Nickelodeon Films), and Jim Whitaker’s Whitaker Entertainment at Walt Disney Studios.

Upon graduating, Melanie quickly secured the coveted membership of SAG-AFTRA: an acting union representing models, actors, and media personalities from across the entertainment industry. Her brilliance in acting soon earned her a nomination for the Best Supporting Actress at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival.

Things took a turn for Melanie when she started facing some chronic health challenges. Vowing to persevere, she created her podcasts to bring people with her on her discovery journey of finding different solutions for claiming and reclaiming health and vitality. As she says in her own words, "I crave knowledge - especially knowledge which lends implementable health benefits - and I yearn to share this with others! Podcasting allows me to do just that. I also think the biohacking world can often seem overwhelming or inaccessible to many people, so my goal is to break that barrier."

Melanie aims to be transparent with her audience and considers it one of the factors for why her podcasts have fared so well. The shows have featured an almost overwhelmingly laundry list of impressive figures, including David Sinclair, Wim Hof, Robb Wolf, Dave Asprey, and James Nestor, among numerous others, and Melanie conducts months of extensive prep and research for each episode. She purposely does not shy away from asking honest and even naive questions. That way, she believes she can bridge the gap between the potentially dense science that often characterizes the concept of “biohacking,” and her audience, who may not be scientists themselves.

By adopting a refreshing take towards podcasting, Melanie smashes the stereotypes associated with being a young blonde, and raises a platform to represent female voices in a typically male-dominated sphere.
