iT ADDA looks at some nice ways in which you can tell time

What is the difference between a clock and a timepiece? If you are a layperson, none. But for horologists, a clock is a device with a striking mechanism for announcing intervals of time acoustically. Wikipedia says that a silent instrument lacking such a mechanism has traditionally been known as a timepiece.

But we don't need to be bothered by such definitions right? So let us look at some nice ways of telling time!

Tempus fugit: If you know your Latin, then you that this stands for 'time flies'. Well, with this clock, time really fliesu2014the propeller flies when the alarm rings and the alarm rings until you find the propeller and fit it back! A painful way to wake up, what? ($24.99/Rs 1,192)

So green: This clock doesn't need batteries and runs off water. How? Well, it extracts electrons from the water, which provide a steady stream of electrical current, which acts as a fuel cell and generates power. ($12.99/Rs 619)

Tell time your way: We all have relatives and friends who flaunt their Armanis and a nice way to get back to them is to use this clock. Set it to hexadecimal, and instead of telling them that you want to meet somebody at 3:30 PM tell them that they can meet you at 'F:1E' (1530 hours). Cool way to show off how clever you are! ($39.99/Rs 1,908)
