3 Breakfast options that help you shed kilos

Rather than skip a meal, you could actually end up shedding kilos if you ate one. New research from the University of Nottingham suggests that a breakfast of muesli with milk, tinned peaches and yoghurt can help weight loss

Starting your day on an empty stomach will not only drain you of energy, but also cut down your metabolic rate warns Richa Anand, nutritionist with LH Hiranandani Hospital.

"Skipping breakfast results in a drop in an individual's metabolic rate, and so, you end up burning far fewer calories." The way to increase your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) is to combine a healthy breakfast with a good fitness routine.

Skipping breakfast keeps your body in starvation mode, making it believe you need to store fat since food isn't coming your way easily. Eating a good meal gives your metabolism that much needed boost.
