New Rules
Still one of her most popular songs, 'New Rules' was released by Dua Lipa in 2017 through her album titled 'Dua Lipa' and is known for celebrating women empowerment. It was met with acclaim from people around the world and even nominated for the British Single of the Year at the 2018 Brit Awards. It was followed by a music video that was directed by Henry Scholfield, and shot at the Confidante Hotel in Miami.
One Kiss
'One Kiss' was probably one of the earliest introductions of Dua Lipa to the world in 2018 after 'New Rules'. The song was produced by Scottish DJ and music producer Calvin Harris and Lipa. The song, which was a standalone single, is about falling in love with somebody immediately after the first kiss. The song was written by Harris, Lipa and Canadian singer Jessie Reyez, and spent eight weeks at No 1 on the UK Singles Chart.
Levitating
Talk about Dua Lipa and it is impossible to ignore 'Levitating', the song from her second album 'Future Nostalgia' that was released in 2020. The song was written by Dua Lipa, Sarah Hudson, Clarence Coffee Jr., and KOZ, who also produced the song with Stuart Price. The song also has a remix American rapper DaBaby that was released on October 1 the same year. It gets even better because the song also has an Indian connect after a mashup of 'Levitating' and 'Woh Ladki Jo' from Shah Rukh Khan's 1999 film 'Badshah' became popular in 2022. The Hindi song sung by Abhijeet Bhattacharya was combined with Lipa's song and went viral almost immediately on social media.
Cold Heart Pnau Remix
A year later, Dua Lipa collaborated with the legendary English singer-songwriter and pianist Elton John to release 'Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)', as a part of the 'The Lockdown Sessions' album in 2021. The song instantly became popular because of the two singers, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, and is among her most popular songs, since she started out close to a decade ago.
Houdini
Being among her most recent tracks, 'Houdini' is a dance-pop number released by the English singer in November 2023 ahead of her 2024 'Radical Optimism' album. While it reached No 2 on the UK Singles Chart, it also peaked at No 9 on Billboard Hot 100. The song came after her May 2023 release of 'Dance The Night', which was the lead soundtrack from Greta Gerwig's 'Barbie' (2023).
