Director- producer Ram Gopal Varma opens up to mid-day.com about his latest production 'Dahanam.'

Varma said, "Daham is a story set in a certain area of Andhra Pradesh, which is known for passion and violence. These are stories that I’ve been hearing for decades, inspired by that we created this story. It’s not a true story but definitely inspired. For example Sarkar is not Bal Thackeray’s story but my point was if Bal Thackeray can exist, Sarkar can also exist. Dahanam is a violent revenge saga because that area is known for its circle of revenge, fights within families and political guys taking advantage of that."

Speaking about the OTT boom he added, "The most wonderful thing about OTT is that we are always tuned to think of a two hour story for a feature film, so many times we wouldn’t do justice to a story that requires longer time. We get to explore the story, character and emotional investment is much more on OTT."
