Bhuvan, known to play distinct characters in his vines, blocks four months to script and voice Indian reboot of Takeshi’s Castle
A still from the series
Most of us remember the laugh riot that was Takeshi’s Castle, an adventure game show that was made all the more hilarious by Jaaved Jaaferi’s voice-over. Last month, it was announced that the popular Japanese show would get an Indian reboot with Bhuvan Bam taking on the hosting duties. Now, it is heard that the YouTube star-turned-actor, who is keen that the Indian edition live up to its legacy, has blocked the next four months to focus solely on the project.
Bam wants to weave in the idiosyncrasies of the Indian population into his storytelling, thus lending a desi touch to the international game show. The popular characters from his vines, including Titu mama, are expected to be a part of the show. A source reveals, “This isn’t a mere recreation; Bhuvan wants to make it a fitting homage. He wants to reflect the show’s nostalgic roots while introducing a fresh, modern twist. While the second season of Taaza Khabar is being scripted, he is single-mindedly working on the voice-over script for this project. He will soon begin dubbing for it.”
