It was only after a political party intervened that the cast of a Hindi TV show were paid their long-pending dues
After struggling for their dues over several months, the cast of a TV show has finally received their long-pending dues amounting to R 85 lakh. And that too after, the artiste association of a political party apparently intervened with the head of the organisation Aadesh Bandekar apparently threatening the show producers of halting the shoot of their ongoing shows.u00a0

Incidentally, Aadesh’s wife was also part of the cast along with actors Mrinal Kulkarni, Ravindra Mankani and Shruti Ulfat.
Says Aadesh, “My wife Suchitra was also part of the show. Finally, Mrinal, Ravindra and the others came to me with their problem. Finally, the producer Manik Bedi informed me that it was the channel that had withheld the payment of dues. However, the channel authorities said they had already cleared all the dues from their end. I had to resort to giving an ultimatum to Bedi that if he wouldn’t pay up, I would have to stop the filming of his other shows.”
According to Mrinal, she had been away from the country when the money tussle was going on. “Thankfully, Suchitra took up the matter with her husband and we got our money back.”
Apparently, his words had a quick effect on the producer, who immediately handed out cheques. According to Aadesh, the first set of cheques would be deposited yesterday.
While speaking to us, Bedi insists that it was not him but the channel that had stop paying the artiste. “The channel did not give us a full payment. The show ended abruptly because of creative issues. After the channel cleared part of the payment, I handed out the cheques.”u00a0
