Television is perceived by many as a stepping stone to Bollywood and very few actors have shown interest in taking up small screen offers after gaining a foothold in B-Town. Sushant Singh Rajput, Rajeev Khandelwal, Gurmeet Choudhary, Amit Sadh and some more actors have effectively quit TV and are focussing more on movies.

A little birdie tells us Karan V Grover, who is currently seen in 'Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant' starring Ridhima Pandit, has bowed out of the show after landing a film offer. The show went on air in mid-February and the makers are said to be miffed with Karan over his decision to quit.

A source close to the producer says, "He signed the movie without informing the production house. After taking care of all the formalities, he conveyed his decision to quit the show, leaving the makers jittery. They are wondering if they should simply replace him or sue him because he had signed a one-year contract with them. The show is gaining popularity and it is his loss if he wants to leave midway. It is also unprofessional on his part to not fulfil his commitment just because he received a film offer."

The show, which revolves around a female robot posing as a bahu, is a comic take on saas-bahu dramas. It has been at the constant rating of 1.2 for two weeks now.

Producer Salone Jaffar, who is out of town, remained unavailable for comment. Karan did not respond to our calls and text messages. The actor's co-star Vahbiz Dorabjee says, "He is with me on the sets at the moment. I have also heard the rumour, but cannot comment on it because I don't genuinely know if it’s true or not. We have been shooting non-stop."
